Ticking while idling

Ticking while idling
Hey guys. I have a 07 TL Type S Auto. I have had it about six months now. I noticed recently when going through the drive through that I hear a ticking coming from the engine compartment. I had the local Acura dealership check it out in my most recent oil change. They said it was do to one of my ignition coils needing to be replaced. They quoted me a price of $287 to fix it. I decided not to fix it that day and after the oil change I have yet to hear that ticking. I'm a little worried so I would like to do a ohms test on my ignition coils and if their is an issue fix it myself.
When I attempted this I ran into an issue. Everything I looked into in regards to how to test the ignition coil seemed not to apply to the coils on my car. When a buddy of mine tried to test the coils the ohms seemed to change over time. They all were different every time we tested them. Hence my questions
1. Does anyone know the specific procedure to test the coils on a 07 TL type S auto?
2. What should ohms should good coils show on the meter?
3. When the TL has a ignition coil problem doe it throw a code? (My TL has been tested twice at two different places with no codes).
Thanks in advance for your help

If ignition coils needed to be replaced shouldn't you have a check engine light. I know with my 2000 tl one of my ignition coils went bad and i had a check engine light and a very bad ticking noise than can be heard from inside the car.. I think you are referring to the common ticking noise most of us guys have...maybe a video can help.... Also don't always believe what the dealer tells you

If it comes back open the hood and investigate where the noise is coming from. It might be your drive belt tensioner or worse...timing belt tensioner. Try to pinpoint so you can rule things out.
As far coil...don't know how to test other than swap a brand new one in each to see if it makes a difference. I had a bad coil and it showed up as an engine miss (rpm blip) under load (A/C on at idle).
