Ticking/popping under steering column
This is really weird. I have a constant ticking sound coming from underneath the steering column. It happens every couple of seconds, but it can be pretty random It seems like it may be coming from the heat vent by the gas pedal. It almost sounds like the noise the fuse box makes when certain things are activated (like the electric seats), but I checked the fuse box and it's definately coming from the opposite side. My car has only 4k miles, but from my past expeirence with my '03, I have no faith that my dealer will be able to fix it, let alone even acknowledge that it's there.
Here's the weird part- it happens when the car is moving AND when the car is not. I've thought it may be the air vent hose expanding and contracting when the heat comes on, but the noise doesn't happen when the ignition is on ACC and the heat is blowing. It only happens when the car is started and the engine is running.
It also has nothing to do with any adjustment of the steering column.
Any ideas?
