Is there a difference between "fogging" and "condensation / moisture"

Just wondering..took the TL through a car wash and notice the headlights fogged up .. not condensation though as i saw no tiny water droplets.. ..the 'fogging' went away quite fast. same for taillights.

is there a difference? or is this normal? occurs mostly during cold weather.

To me it all means the same thing. Fog is just really small water droplets, i.e. condensation. Just because the drops are too small to see doesn't matter.


It's normal, even for stock lights, to occasionally fog under certain conditions; might be rare, but still normal. They (stock headlights) have a dessicant pack inside to absorb any "stray" moisture.

If your lights fogged up every time it rained or every time the humidiy got high, I'd wonder about it.
