Are there any common culprits in 3rd Gen TLs for AC system leaks?
Hey everyone, thought I would check in with the forum before I start searching for the leak in my system (06 TL). I've recharged the system a couple of times, and it usually holds for about a week, then I'll see the "condensation" coming through the vents, and thats it, shes all empty again. The last time I added some of that red dyed sealant before charging it, so I am hoping to find the dye spot, but thought I would see if there were any "normal failure points"/ Thanks

Not any specifics on the TL that I'm aware of, but if it's being lost at that rate, the leak will be quite substantial.
I use an electronic detector, but you can try the dye, dishwasher detergent, Halide torch on suspected areas.
Check Schrader valves first.

old thread, I know, but thanks for the advice. I replaced the schrader valve on the low side, will replace the high side then recharge. NOT that I need the A/C now, its been below 20 here in Maryland!

Have fun testing if it's working; why wouldn't you wait till the weather is a bit warmer? I'm in the same situation with another car of mine; waiting for warmer temp.

I'm about to drive the car from Maryland to Alabama to hand it off to my son in college, it gets alot hotter in Alabama than here in Maryland sooner, so I was just trying to get ahead of the heat!
