Syncing ECU to Immobilizer after swapping to a manual transmission
My buddy and I swapped a manual transmission into my TL. My car is an 06 and the donor car was a 2004 TL. We swapped everything over to my car including the ECU and wire harnesses from the engine to the ECU. We noticed that the dash harness would not hook up to the manual transmission so my friend printed off the wiring diagrams from his job. We matched up, then spliced each wire going from the dash to the ECU and from the engine harness to ECU. The car turns on and everything seemed fine.
My problem is syncing the ECU to the immobilizer. I had my car towed over to the Acura dealership. He told me it would be around a two hour job to sync everything and cost me $260.00. Okay, if that's the price I have to pay then whatever. I gave them the vin number from the previous car. They then tell me that they need my automatic ECU to pull data from that ECU and insert them into the manual ECU. I don't understand why that is necessary. The settings will be different because we did the transmission swap. Another potential problem is that the harnesses will not plug into the automatic ECU because they're different from the manual ECU. Can anyone shed some light on this? Do they need my automatic ECU to sync my manual ECU to my immobilizer?

Contact Frosty and ask him if he knows or can ask the guy who did his swap. He had Paul do a auto to 6MT swap. Paul will know.
