Sunroof/Moonroof Won't Close - Any Way to Manually Close?

I have searched the forums, 3g garage and the net. Sorry if I missed something.

I have also tried the auto reset by holding the switch back and forward.

Basically, the forward button sends the unit back. The rear button sends the unit back too. The "up" button moves it forward about 1/3 of the way. ...so it is open 2/3 at best.

I just need to get it closed. I don't care if I ever use it again.

Is there a way to manually close this thing? ...or to trick it?

Yeah there's a manual crank near the back that takes an allen wrench I'm pretty sure.

poke around and you'll find it.

If there is a manual crank, I could not find it. I had to take the headliner off and remove the motor - this is quite some task. The worm drive on the motor was fine, but the worm tubes were full of metal shavings. Once the motor was removed, I could push the unit back into place. Once the motor was reinstalled, then the worm drive would not allow it to move out of position. The switch is not disconnected.

I sure hope that there is an easier way than this to accomplish this task.
