Great advice on the Fumoto Valve, I've had great success with them. Makes oil changes faster and less messy since they have a 90-degree elbow

The 95% of the population who turn red n the face over-torquing their oil drain plug this product is for you.

For those interested:
https://www.amazon.com/Fumoto-F-106N.../dp/B003T7XUE4

You will need the 14MMx1.5 adapter as well:

Sorry to revive an old thread but kbouchard1092 are those parts to replace the stock drain plug or for an oversized one from installing like a helicoil or timesert? I was told mine got overtightened and would need to replace the oil pan, but I think I'm going to try a helicoil/timesert with the fumoto drain valve to save a lot of money and time but I don't know which size to get for any of the parts, anybody know? It's an 05 Acura tl 6spd

It appears that the parts listed in his links above are for the stock drain plug. Based on the (#12) BOLT, DRAIN PLUG (14MM) size on the OEM part for your 2005 TL-6 oil pan.

The Fumoto valve works for a pan with threads in good condition. You either helicoil or replace the pan. Best option is to replace the pan, because retapping that drain hole is extremely tough with the pan's location near the exhaust pipe and the sub-frame. If you can't replace the pan yourself, then prepare to pay lots of money to do it because the J-pipe or the exhaust needs to dropped to remove it, depending on how rusted the nuts/bolts on the 3rd cat converter is. I replaced the pan recently after stripping the thread myself years ago, installed Fumoto F106S, never need to unscrew a bolt again risking stripping it while doing oil changes.
