Stop alarm while jump starting car?
anyone know how i can prevent the alarm from going off while im jumping it? I press unlock on the key fob but it STILL screams and i live in a sensitive HOA. ???

give the car power first by connecting the cables, turning on the other car and wait a minute or so. Then unlock the DRIVER door with the KEY and open the door. Then jump start the car. The alarm shouldn't sound then.

I had to jump my car this morning too and had this problem. I tried key in ignition, out of ignition, door locked, other car running, not running. Even drug out my actual battery charger and tried, as soon as voltage reached about 8v (yeah battery totally dead), horn started weezing. Ended up driving chevelle to work, but WTF on jump starting??

Acura did this to help deter thieves. When you start the car without the car being unlocked first (the battery is dead so the alarm doesn't realize you unlocked it with the key (with immobilizer in it) and start it (give it power) then the car thinks someone broke in!
Unplugging the horn won't stop the rest of the systems, I believe all the lights start pulsing and so do the electronic gauges and screens and such b/w full and dim brightness.

So I went out and got it together. You basically need to deal with 3-5 honking cycles, but I put it in neutral with e-brake set, popped hood, got out and locked the door. Put charger on it, horn starts going, I hit lock 2 or 3 times, heard locks finally click, then hit unlock and the horn stopped. So as these guys said, the fob is the alarm deactivation, once the car has enough juice to at least acknowledge the fob, you can cycle the locks locked then unlocked and it'll stop in just a few honks.

Also, I discovered that if you place the key in the drover's door and press the alarm button on the key fob, the alarm stops. Now to be honest, I am not sure if I turned the key as I depressed the tab on the key fob or not. If one way does not work, try doing while turning the key.

The car would start with the boost and I could drive it but the alarm would have been going off. So I left it over night with a 100% dead battery, no light or anything would go on. Took my dad with me to go get my car and was gonna try changing the battery, but to my surprise when I got there my fob worked and my car would turn over but not start, so I boosted it and it started just fine.
Extremely weird considering my battery was right dead the night before. Don't know how this would have happened but if it can help anyone else just leaving it for about 12 hours so worked for me.

Here's what I did.
I was just trying to charge my dead battery because I went on vacation and there is a drain some where(seems to be a common problem) so my car was dead when I came home. I know through experience that the alarm will sound as soon as I hook it up to power and being 1 am in a quiet neighborhood I didn't want that.
I have a 2006 TL. I manually opened the drivers door with the key so I could pop the hood. Opened the hood and with the charger not connected to any power I hooked it up to the battery in a way so the clamps could lay down flat. I ran the cables in a way so I could completely close the hood. I closed the hood all the way. Manually locked all the doors and made sure trunk was closed. Then I hooked the charger up to power. There was no blaring horn and no lights flashing. I pressed the unlock button on fob and it unlocked and everything was good. I would assume you could do the same thing if using jumper cables as long as they were thin enough to close the hood over them. I hope this helps.

I have this problem at present. The horn would just scream. Tried all the suggested solutions but nothing happens. Also I have no ignition power, no headlights nothing at all except the horn blaring loudly. Anymore suggestions?

I just experienced the same problem with my 2007 TSX—the battery completely died and I had to unlock the driver's door with the key to open the hood and after trying to jump start the car, the car alarm went off: horn beeping and head lights blinking. The dashboard display was also showing all king of off indications: ABS, break system, engine, etc.
Also notice that turning the key twice doesn't open the rest of the locks and didn't turn off the alarm. I guess this requires at least some juice left in the battery.
Putting the key in the lock and pressing the unlock button twice turned off the alarm. I did this while the jump start battery was connected

when the battery voltage dips to about 10, the alarm goes bonkers. solution is to charge up battery or replace it

Same here after jumping off dead battery. Left interior lights on after working on a GPS mount....thought I was smarter than that. Also, got to find a better place to store my cables than in the trunk, luckley I have a spare set in the 1 fiddy. I just used my key to lock & unlock driver door....problem solved.

My battery was dead in my 2012 Acura TL and I wanted to charge it but as soon I attached my charger to the battery the horn sounded continually. After trying several ways to stop the horn from sounding I tried opening and closing the door with the actual key from the Fob. It worked, the horn stopped.
