Still getting vibration while accelerating

hey guys, i just changed my passenger side axle on my 04 tl 6 speed...the reason i changed it was because i was getting a strong vibration while i was accelerating..now, its still vibrating but not as much...does anyone have a clue?...maybe a bad bearing or lower ball joint?

Balance?

I had a similar problem before and got my wheels balanced and they are fine now.

is it during acceleration only? If not it could be as simple as your tires and wheels needing to be rebalanced properly.

And if you are having it still after the balancing, it could be torn or damaged bushings on your control arms or other suspension components in the front of the car.

yes it is only while accelerating....could it be the intermediate shaft?....i looked on the forums and didnt see anyone that changed that to solve their problem....i dont think its the balancing of the tires because it does it at low speed or any speed actually

What about the left side axle inner CV joint or the intermediate shaft bearing?

I am having similar problems....

I am leaning towards either

1) CV axel......I do not get a clicking while turning though and dont wanna replace both

Currently I am thinking it may be the control arm bushing....after reading the 16 page thread I would bet this is the problem....still need to see if they are cracked and then I will get them replaced.

Did you replace just the axel or the entire half shaft including both CV joints?

about a month ago, i changed the driver side axle, driver side knuckle which includes a new bearing and a lower ball joint, both driver and passenger upper control arms....car was riding real nice after all that work...then about 2 weeks later, i was getting a big vibration on the passenger side only when accelerating...so i thought it was the axle...so this past saturday i installed a new passenger side axle....i then went for a ride and yet the vibrations are still there...not as strong but still noticable...the vibrations is only coming from the passenger side....so now im really clueless...

Did you check your lower control arm bushings? I assume if you replace them recently the bushings would be new? Seems like youve replace just about every suspension component on your front end....thats a lot of money! There is a huge thread on the cracked bushings which are apparently common on this car and can go in as little as 5000 miles especially when lowered. I would double check your bushings again....

Yea, I am still afraid to check mine cause I cant exactly install them myself since you need a machine press and I am without a second car to drive myself to get them pressed (assuming I would find somewhere to take them). Plus I am not near home for the summer and cant jack up the car so I am going to try and shove a digital camera in my wheel well and snap some pics and hope they turn out good. Luckily theres a Honda/Acura mechanic near by who only charges 60 dollars an hour for labor! Beats the 120/hr from the stealership. Lemme know what you find! It could explain how it went away and now its back....mine has been like this since I ran over a drivetrain on the PA turnpike, and yes it was a drivetrain that fell of a truck another truck was towing....two new wheels, 2 new tires....and have had this vibration since....I bet my bushing is cracked to shit!

Good thing my car wasnt lowered at the time....otherwise I most likely be putting on a new aspec lip/bumper and new suspension....

hmm sound like you have a bad cv joint. If you can and if the axle you just replaced was a reman axle I would probably take it back and exchange it, maybe you received a bad axle. Wheel bearings my not be the cause but i would check to see all 4 corners. Did you ever have the alignment done after after replacing the knuckle? I would also take the wheel with the most weight and mount it in the right rear.
