Steering Wheel looks like the dashboard
Hello Everyone,
I just took delivery of a 2004 TL with about 28,000 miles on it. I've got the dashboard cosmetic problem as many of you do and plan on taking it to the dealer this week to have them "fix" it and document it.
But I also have a similar problem with the steering wheel and the rubber seal around the center rear brake light. Anyone else with this problem?
I've tried to clean the steering wheel with no success. If they decide to replace it, can I get it replaced with the A-Spec wheel do you think? I believe the cost is the same for both.
Also, I know the computer in the car keeps track of maintanence, but is it printed anywhere just what the maintanence schedule is? It's not in the manuals anywhere that I can see.
Thanks.

you can buy either the A-spec or the carbon fiber steering wheel. the car computer do not keep track or record of the maintanence. the MID(computer) show what maintanance need to be done.

So there's no written record of what maintanence is needed?
On the steering wheel, don't they make a "wooden" one also?

Owner's manual has codes in the Maintenance Minder section

The explanation of the A, B and 1-5 codes is on the last page of the section describing the Maintenance Minder, just before the Maintenance Log, near page 210 or so of my 2005 TL Owner's Manual. There should be something similar in the manual for the 2004 TL; check the index for "Maintenance Minder."
The maintenance/service codes are also available on-line on the Acura Ownerlink (https://www.ahm-ownerlink.com/login.asp?brand=acura).
