Steering problem, please help...

Here's a description of the problem:

Recently, during turns slight sweeping turns (like a flyby exiting one freeway onto another), when I try to hold the steering wheel steady (say 5 degrees to one direction or another) it jerks either back towards the center or further in the direction I'm turning. The best way I can describe it is it's like there is a dead spot in the steering and it wants to be turned more or less.

I initially thought it might be a torque steer issue, but the behavior doesn't change when I'm decelerating in a turn. The next thought is that it might be something with the tie rod ends or something of that nature, but all the rubber components were changed a few months ago (bushings, ball joints, tie rod ends, etc).

Does anyone have any clue as to what this might be? This problem makes the car difficult to drive during turns where the road isn't smooth.

Any thoughts or idea are greatly appreciated!

Yes, they did an alignment after the front end work was done.
