Slight grinding noise when in drive at a stop

Hi everyone.

Hoping someone can help with my problem/issue.

A few weeks ago our axle broke on one side and we had it replaced. One day I was at a red light for a few minutes and my car stalled and died. Kind of like when you drive manual and it stalls. I was able to re-start it but it was a bit weird. Since then, it's either sputtered without dying or has this slight grinding noise when we're at a stop light. Could this have something to do with the repair?

Any suggestions/help is appreciated.

Thanks!

From my knowledge the only way the axle may have an effect is if the axle seal the the transmission housing is bad and leaked all the transmission fluid out. The odds are very slim though.

I would think that if its dieing out when coming to a stop then you have some carbon buiilt up in the manifold/IACV and EGR. Try cleaning all of those out yourself its a very cheap solution and its quite possible thats the problem. When the car is making the grinding sound where is it coming from? Like under the car or from the brakes?

It's coming from under the car, not the brakes.
