shifter trim felt piece coming out [pics]
this has been gradually sliding out from under the shifter trim. Dealership won't touch it because I got into an accident, I'll have to ask the bodyshop to do it? WHAT does replacing a driver door have anything to do with the shifter??
anyway, I'll have to fix it on my own. Am I able to pry up the surroung piece of the trim or is that one unit? I remember in my maxima it came up as one big cover. Worst case scenario I'll just stuff some felt in there, but I'd like to do it right.

The same exact thing happened to my '07 TL-S (bought back in Dec. '06). I took it back to the dealer late June and they "fixed" it. Never asked them what they did but I kind of suspect that they just cut or pulled and removed it.
Any other '07 automatic owners have this problem?

pry up on that silver trim and it will come up, its just held on there by four clips. YOu can reglue the felt and put the plate back on by pressing. It is very simple. BUT ONLY pry up on the silver trim that it goes under, not where is says P, R, N, D.

Why is this happening on a $39K car?
Similarly, why do my XM and climate control settings periodically "reset" themselves after the car has been parked for awhile?
I want my '99 1LE/LS1/6 speed Z28 back.....It even got better mileage than my TL.
