Rough engine idle on 2006 TL (AT)
I have a rough engine idle on my 2006 TL. The rough idle vibrates my steering wheel and seats moderately when the car is in Park or stopped at a red light. I have taken my car to two Acura Dealers. Each of thse dealers have tested my car and told me that my cars vibration is within acceptable limits.
Well the problem is that I am not satisfied with what they call acceptable limits. I find a rough engine idle on a mid luxury vehicle with low mileage to be unacceptable.
The first dealer I took my car too was completely hopeless. THey test drove my car, checked for broken engien mounts and charged me $109. The second dealer made a little more effort to try and resolve my issue. They performed an idle relearn procedure on my car and clean the fuel rail. Unfortunately this procedures have not resolved my rough engine idle. Does anyone have any thoughts about this, any suggestions ?

I have same problem, 2006 TL Auto 63K. Keeps bothering me everytime I stop at the traffic light to the point where I have to take my hand off the steering wheel. Visit to one dealer solved nothing - they say it's normal for this car, engine mounts sopsedly are fine. I'm pretty sure it was much smoother new. My wife drove it for last 3-4 years and now that I took it as daily driver it really bothers me... I plan to use vibration/seismograph app on my phone to record the vibration and find other owners who could do the same to compare.

Spark plugs, seafoam, and inspect all engine mounts and the vac lines connected to them. The front and rear are vac charged so if it is disconnected it will cause a vibration at stops.

Cruisin'
Synthetic Oil?
I have an 06 TL with 74k and was starting to have a mild vibration(while idling). It was by no means a major shake, but enough to make a perfectionist like me unhappy
. I did a bit of looking and decided to make the switch to synthetic oil(Mobil 1) and a better filter(K&N). So far I've had a noticeable reduction in the vibration and the engine runs much smoother in my opinion. I understand it might all be in my head, but so far it seems to have made the difference. I was a bit hesitant to switch to full synthetic at 74k(seals,etc) but I called Acura and they said it shouldn't be a problem. So far so good. This might be an option. Oil change is super easy and you can buy a 5QT jug of Mobil 1 5W-20 at Walmart for $25 bucks(I got mine for $15
), get a K&N for $10.
