Retarded wiper/washers

I've had my 05 TL now for 5 months and I can't figure out the logic of washers and wipers. Sometimes the wipers are initiated when washing other times it does not. It doesn't seem to be linked to speed or frequency of use.

Anyone else notice this gremlin ?

You have to pull all the way up on the lever. Pulling part way will spray the windshield but not activate the wipers, which I often use to get it wet before the wipers actually make their sweep, thus cutting down on the chance of scratching the windshield if it is really dirty.

I don't know if Acura planned it this way, but it is a good feature.

I disagree! If you look at the detents for the wiper theyare as follows:

Uppermost - momentary mist
1st position - off
2nd position - intermittent control
3rd - low wiper
4th or bottom - high wiper

When in the off position I can pull the lever for wash, sometimes the wipers come on and sometimes they don't. Not sure what makes it decide to not wipe ???

maybe you are pulling and pushing up at the same time without realizing it?

On the way home from work tonight I carefully used the washer again making sure I did not pull up on the lever. Once again sometimes it initiates the wipers sometimes it doesn't. I guess I won't lose sleep over it, it's kind of a BFD.
