Replacing glass which is "bleeding" in sideview mirrors?

Both of my sideview mirrors have what appears to be rust type stains on the glass that won't wipe away. I believe they are actually under the glass. Has anyone else experienced this?

I was quoted $225 to fix this by my dealership. I noticed that I can buy just the glass from one of the numerous Honda/Acura dealser online. How hard would it be to swap just the glass from the assembly and has anyone here done this?

This is a common thing. Happened to my TL and the dealer replaced it for free. I was still under warranty.

i am under warranty as well -- was wondering if they would give me hard time for it.

I've actually had my drivers side replaced already, b/c it was tilting and panning smoothly, so they replaced it, no ?s asked...may have same luck.

This is due to the heated mirror being left on apparently which causes the blue tint to burn

Several threads mentioned this problem.

And that is how it was resolved with most members. One was out of warranty and unable to get a goodwill replacement, so he ordered and replaced the glass, IIRC.

Try a search for that thread if you can't get the mirrors replaced by a dealer for free; IDR if the thread had part numbers, though.

for '06 NBP TL (your car, right?):

76200-SEP-A02ZB for passenger side

76250-SEP-A02ZB for drivers side

$200 shipped for one mirror -- as for installation., im sure someone can scan in the pages from the service manual.

its 25$ not 200. You dont need the whole thing, just the mirror it's self. And I am sure there is a HOW TO in the garage section. I was looking at this before and people are replacing them with the concave ones that show you your blind spots as well. Just search

Bought a drivers side mirror for $40 at a Canadian Acura Dealer and replaced it myself in about five minutes... check the DIY in the Garage.

I searched through "The Garage" and found just about everything BUT an explanation on how to swap the glass. Can someone point me towards some threads on this?

I have an 05 with 40k miles and noticed this on my driver's side mirror. I rarely use the heated mirror feature. It's amazing how many little issues pop up on this car.
