hmm, the other day I got to the vents but when I pushed on them they didn't move that much. Not sure what I'm going to do next but I have a terrible rear deck rattle.

Maybe I'll have to dynamat the rear deck.

I have had the rattle for years now. I thought it was the speakers needing to be tightened, but after reading this thread, I'm going to try this fix. I can barely listen to my music. Anything 10 or over and the annoying rattle comes back.

I'm about to try this fix now!

worked like a charm! My plastic piece was on the right side of the light, but still same results after I put the cloth in, it stopped some rattle; but I also noticed it was rattling around the subwoofer itself so I put another piece of cloth around the sub woofer in its cage and that stopped the pretty much the rest of it. There is still a little rattle, but nowhere near as bad, and only if I put the volume up to 30+. I never go above 15 anyway so no big deal.

The only issue I had was my battery going dead after having the stereo on without the car cranked (saving gas), but I just charged it back up.

Thanks OP!

Wow...thread revival on this one...how did I miss this...I have my rear deck screwed in, deadener everywhere especially where the middle seatbelt bolts up top...and still I have a noise, thought it was my brake light cover slapping the rear window, but I'm guessing it's this too. I'll give it a whirl!

Thanks OP!

Good luck rick, hopefully it will work for you as well!

the dealer was probably releasing air as he stated that...

thanks man...we shall see, took me 2 minutes, I've stuffed polyfill in there already but made it a little tighter, we shall see!

I just did this tonight, worked perfect! I just pulled down on the trim piece, no plastic plugs broke. I couldn't find the GPS antenna that was mentioned earlier, but something may have been rattling near there. I did notice that the seat belt piece was making some noise, but couldn't figure out how to fix it. On the plus side, i hear no rattles at all from the cabin. Stereo sounds so much better now!

The rattle in my 07 wasn't too bad but I went ahead and did this anyway. I cut up 2 small pieces of terry cloth and put them on each side to push up the plastic. Worked great. My sub sounds much better. Thanks a bunch.

I had tried this fix several years ago and really couldn't get it go away completely. I ended up getting the rear shelf dynamatted and that helped a lot but there is still buzzing from the crappy stock sub itself. I have to have the bass down at one notch below the center to keep it from making noise. I'm not going to go through the hassle of replacing the sub, getting new amps, etc so I just turn the bass down.

sub'd so I don't forget to do this.

I've been dealing with this for a while and was scared I had a blown speaker or something.

If this fixes that rattle that's been pissing me off I'm going to be mad I didn't see this sooner!

Knowing me, I'll probably break all the fasteners and won't end up fixing the problem anyway though lol

Hey guys I'm struggling to take the 4 plastic clips that are near the trunk light. I already sorta broke one. What's the part number for this? It sounds like you guys just pulled the carpet down after unscrewing the screw on each end?

I have a horrible rattling sound that sounds like it is coming from behind the rear passenger seat. I hear it when my stereo is turned on or off and it is hella annoying.

I don't know where the sub is located but if part of it covers that area then it could be the problem.

Also, I tried removing those 4 plugs on the inside roof part of the trunk and they sounded like they were going to break so I stopped

I just wanted to say that I did this fix today and it definitely fixed a huge rattle. There is still a very minor rattle somewhere in the rear, probably the seatbelt piece that I read about before but it's only when the bass is blasting.

Either way I'm very happy with this, thanks a lot!

I did this and it didn't fix my rattle so obviously my sub is not the problem. I think my rattle is coming from the seatbelt thing.

Thanks OP! I've had the same problem for years and had always thought it was the sub going bad (as I sometimes switch between iPod thru radio to CD's and forget to turn the volume back to normal levels). I popped out my liner within 5 min and shoved a beaten up terry cloth pad inside! Worked like a charm!

Possibly looking into replacing my rear deck..Mine's got some serious warping issues because of the intense heat/siunlight of the S.Florida sun. I recently just put in a 12" @ 800w and Im getting a ton of rattling. The next project in mind would be to remove the rear seats/rear deck and take out the factory sub to allow for more sound to pass through to the cabin. While I have everything out I was also planning on Second-Skin'ing the rear deck area and the trunk.

Anyone else on hear replace their rear deck? if so, can i get a link to the part page?

Replace the rear deck or the deck tray?

I'm making a thread today about what I did this weekend but one of the things I noted when messing with my rear deck was all of the white clips, although they looked fine, were in fact very degraded. I snapped in all new clips and my deck has made ZERO noises. And it was horrible before.

I'd call that the rear tray but people just call it the deck.

I can't imagine that piece contorting too much to the heat... Although I wouldn't had believed peoples dashes would crack under the heat either.

Honestly, like I said above, just buy all new clips for the deck and see how it is. Make sure all clips SNAP into place too.

The last time I have my rear deck out it was put back in by an Acura technician (friend). He missed 2-3 clips on the drivers side. No wonder I had all the rattles!

http://www.acuraoemparts.com/delray/...All&vinsrch=no

#20. You need twelve of them total. I HIGHLY recommend anyone with a 06 or before to replace those the next time they have their deck out.

When I replaced mine Friday, the clips that where in there looked fine but could wiggled quite a lot in their locations. The new clips don't move at all.

Any advise on how to tackle this?

Has anyone figured out how to fix this rattle? This one seems to be the only one left that I need to take care of...

Seat belt rattle is what I have too. I heard the only way to fix it is remove the rear seats and the rear deck. Not worth it imo. I just make my music louder when it starts to annoy me. But I wish there was an easier fix

Just saw this thread today and I had felt compelled to share my story... Bought my CPO Type-S about a year and a half ago in Woodbridge, VA and very soon after I got the infamous rattle from the rear deck. Took it back and asked them to fix it under warranty which they claimed they did by replacing the "broken" rear deck lining. Not too long after, I had the rattle again and took it to my (currently) local dealer in Va Beach. I took it to this particular dealer (which I have had great luck with otherwise) 3 times before they could even replicate the noise on their own, and each time I would get my car back with the vol turned up to about 35 or so... wtf. I finally produced the noise for them (vol @ ~7 or 8) with some pretty mellow tunes, and they wanted $350 to "fix the noise" b/c they claimed they needed to pull out the whole back seat and deck to get to it, and that the repair "is a trim item and therefore not under the CPO warranty." I said screw it and promptly left.
So, I am ecstatic that I found this thread and I haven't even tried it yet. Given the pages of positive feedback I am optimistic. Thanks in advance for everyone's posts on this one, it is one of the more annoying ticks of our cars...

I think by now everyone should know it could be a few different things causing the rattle. For some it may be a subwoofer rattle, for others he vents, for me I know for a fact it is the damn seatbelt thing. So fucking annoying.

Stuffed some paper towels in the holes under the rear vent plastic piece, and I get no more rattles now!

Oh, and to get the rear under cover off from the trunk, I just put a finger on either side of the plastic fastener and pulled down on the under cover. It came off very easily...

YES! Finally got around to doing this the other night and no more rattle. So nice to hear clean bass now...
I can't speak for others, but my sound system is completely stock still. Sounds good enough for me so far, so no changes there. Maybe farther down the road once I get the exhaust done. RV6 coming soon!

Thanks again to those that contributed to this fix.
