Read interior light stays on

Hello Everyone,

I have a quick question regarding my 2006 Acura TL that I was hoping someone had some knowledge of. I couldn't find anything similiar posted. It has to do with the interior light in the back seat. On the overhead center control panel there is a light switch that has three settings. The first is to turn all interior lights off completely; the second to turn lights on in standby mode so that the interior lights are illuminated when you first get in the car; and the last is to keep the interior lights on continuously. Up until recently the standby mode worked correctly, in that, they would come on when I first entered the car and then fade off after a while. Now the light in the rear passenger area stays on continuously while in standby mode. More specifically, only one light stays on, since there are actually two bulbs side by side. The other one fades out as expected. It's not that big of a deal since I can turn the light off by disabling the lights completely, but I'd like to know whether or not I'm missing something stupid. I didn't notice a manually switch anywhere back there or on the light itself. I'll bring it up next time I'm getting serviced, but that's a while from now, and it's not really worth a visit specific to this problem. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Someone turned the back-seat passenger map light on manually. Just press it (the light lens itself!) gently and it should turn off.

Thanks, I thought it would be something like that. I was looking for a switch, but it never occurred to me to press the light itself. I assumed that the light cover was fixed and strictly protective in nature. Turns out that the front interior lights work the same way. I've been using the master switch to turn them on and off until now. It only took me a year to find this out. Now I'm wondering what other little details I'm not aware of. Thanks again for your help. It's greatly appreciated. This website in general is a great idea.

Hi Frank.
The manual has a bunch of that kind of stuff, but the fun way to find out about the features is this thread:
