radio code - issue
okay so i got the code and i tried to enter the code but it wont take.
my anntena i dont think is connected since when the radio worked it had static on both am and fm (i just use sat)
I found a way that my radio will work but it only stays on for 3 minutes and then shuts off!!
sucks! i turn off radio then hold 1 and 6 then press on.
the radio shows the serial number and then i push 2.
my radio turns on and works but it only lasts for 3 minutes exactly.
anyone ever heard of this?
2 is also the first number of my radio code
please someone help me!!

The radio should ask for "code" when turned on.
Then enter the numbers the radio wants with the preset buttons-- the radio will immediately activate upon entry of the last code number.
If you enter the wrong number (like a Navi code instead of radio code), the radio will display "err" until the correct number is put in.

if its giving you the serial then you can recover the code online if im not mistaken via the acura website, as the unlock code is a diriative of the sn +vin.

what year tl is this? This started happening to my '08 w/ navi, but only for the radio. I took the car in and they blamed it on a badly corroded positive battery terminal. Don't know what one thing has to do with the other or why the Navi wasn't affected. but check it out.

UPDATE:
okay so after all this i finally went down to the dealer so they could charge me for fixing a good working radio.
They did and for free!!!![Smile](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
The radio code the guy gave me over the phone was not the right code- so as soon as we put in the right code the radio works again!!
im happy to have it back and i put a code sticker in the car for the future.
