Problem with Dealer after Compression test

Hi Everyone,

want your opinions on what i should do in this case.

A couple of months ago my 08 Tl-S wasn't running its best so i brought it to the dealer for a compression test. I was told nothing was wrong but they would do a valve adjustment to see if anything improved.

Yesterday i decided to change my spark plugs, starting from the back everything was normal.

Once i got to the front left most plug i noticed it hadn't been torqued and heres what it looked like.

That sounds pretty obviously their fault. Why let it slide? They forgot to torque the spark plug back down (after compression test) and it could have caused a lot of damage, they should make it right for you

That's not from leaving the spark plug loose, it's from the coil overheating. likely why the car is running bad. they should have told about it yes, but it also sounds like you asked for a compression check, not a diagnosis. make sure you clarify exactly what you want to know with a dealership, some technicians do not care, and will give you only what you ask for.

That is what happens when spark plugs back them self out . That probably happened before the dealer got their hands on it and probably didn't tell you about it . it was a common problem with factory spark plugs at about 90k miles . usually the center spark plug would do that . the weird part is that when that happens is makes a tapping noise but will not throw a CEL. i would replace that coil . i would also keep an eye on the seal on that plug . the first pic where you have the valve cover and spark plug tube . there is a seal that goes there and that gets burned up from the exhaust heat . just make sure no oil is getting by in the mean time. When you get around to do valve adjustment i would replace valve cover gaskets and spark plug tube seals
