Problem with '06 navi
Hi,
So for the past couple days my navigation has been taking a long time to boot thought the "Acura A" screen. Up to 5-7 min when cold, faster when warmed up a little. Today it started going through a total reboot, as if the power has been cut, even requiring the security code and time to acquire GPS. I do have the Dom pnp installed for a back up camera. When I put it into reverse, the camera comes on, but the screen is very dim (normally happens if the navi hasn't booted).
Any idea whats going on? I searched for answers but can't quite find it here..

Sounds like your battery is weak and about to die, and/or there is a loose battery cable connection (check for corrosion on the clamps and along the cable under the sheathing while you're at it).

The long boot, password requirement and need to locate satellites indicate that power to the Navi was interrupted.
The car may have enough to turn the starter and engine for now, but I'd check the battery regardless, preferably under load, and especially if the battery is 3 or more years old.
Also check for an electrical drain 35 minutes after turning off the ignition (the HFL is designed to stay on for 30 minutes after the car is turned off; a bad HFL will stay connected and drain the battery).

New development. So screen stayed black for about 7-10 min, passcode then normal boot sequence. But when I used the nav, the voice was just a screeching crackling noise... Is the dvd unit going bad? My warranty is 1.5K expired......

Sounds like it.. it's about $350 to have Pioneer rebuild it (I think that's the manufacturer, but I don't know because my TL is non-navi )
