Purchase 53601-SEP-A54 from Acura for $425, or get a remanufactured
unit from Rock Auto <$155 and do an install. Some of the reman. units come
with a lifetime warranty.

The quote you got is within reason, especially for a dealership repair. The power steering rack is actually a relatively inexpensive part, for the most part it's the labor your paying for. Replacing the rack requires extensive labor and man hours, which takes up a little over half the cost of the repair. I would highly recommend sticking with the dealer for the repair to guarantee the quality PS rack.

Listen... Would this be a rack and pinion problem? Thanks for any input.

Hey, I know I'm super late. I was just wondering if you knew what reman unit you got? I'm in need of one and it seems like the one you bought was great.
