Power steering potential problem
So I drove the TL the other day which is 95% of the time my wifes daily driver, but we took it on a trip. Long story short, I got to our destination about 400 miles away and noticed that the PS was whining like a stuck pig. So the other guy that was going with us has a 2004 Audi A6. He had some CHF 11 PS fluid in his trunk. I know this may not have been the best idea because I know that is synthetic fluid, but I had to do something about that whining. I was afraid it was so low it was going to burn up the pump because it wasnt even registering on the stick. So basically I put CHF11s in with what is probably Honda PS fluid. Not sure if there is a compatibility issue here or not, but do you think it hurt anything for the time being? I am going to just flush the entire thing as soon as I get a chance and put honda fluid in it. It never foamed up and seemed to fix the problem, but i dont want to find out the 350$ way when i am ordering another pump. Still not sure if there is a viscosity issue i need to be worried about here. There really isnt much of searching to be done on this topic because people generally dont mix in 28$ Pentosin in their hondas.

It's a common problem and the solution is typically to simply replace the PS O-Ring...so you're looking at a $0.70 fix. I run AMSOIL synthetic, no problems. How much did you add?
