Catalyst System Efficiency Below Threshold (Bank 1) is what the error code is. It could be caused by a bad O2 sensor which is nowhere near 1000 dollars to fix. OR it could be a bad catalyst, you can buy a High Flow one from here for around 200-300 buck and get them replaced or you can buy an OEM one for a little more and have that put on as well. In any case it shouldn't be 1000 dollars.

Also please do us a favor and turn the caps lock off, it seems like you are yelling at us!

Take it to someone else. This guy doesn't know what he's doing or he's trying to rip you off. If it is the cat, take a look at the emissions warranty to see if you're still covered.

Pretty sure that the 3rd cat will never throw a code because there are no sensors on it.

I get that code from time to time, then it goes away. I have my money on a bad O2 sensor as well.

You are still under the 8y/80,000 emission warranty. Go to the dealership to get it checked or replaced asap, don't wait until the warranty expires..

cats should be covered as an emission component. O2 sensor not so sure about. look in your owners manual or warranty handbook
