P0717 & P0718 Codes :(

Hey fellas, I had a code thrown for the APP sensor (p2138), so I purchased the part and replaced it this morning. When I started it back up, the CEL light was still on. It feels better, but the new codes are:

P0717 - Turbine/Input Shaft Speed Sensor Circuit (No Signal)
P0718 - Turbine/Input Shaft Speed Sensor Circuit Intermittent

There isn't much on these codes, so I'm assuming it's not too popular (good thing? bad thing? ), but I spoke with the Acura dealership service department today and he said that it states to him that "it is not mechanical & is an electrical issue". The tranny seems to shift a little weird at times, but other times it feels very smooth. Not sure if this can cause something like the timing of shifts, etc to be off...but who knows.

Anyways, I wanted to see if anyone had any knowledge on this part. Looks like it's about $75 from a dealer and runs 1.5hrs labor ($280 total bill) so it's definitely something I'd like to just tackle myself if it's simple. The problem with that is there isn't much online about it so I have NO IDEA where it's located or what part # to purchase (i guess Acura could tell me the #).

Help?!

Well, the CEL and VSA went away until today. They came back on on my drive to work this morning. I also had the "D" start blinking on me. Car feels like it's shifting okay, but these damn transmissions always suck so who knows. The tranny was rebuilt around 110k miles and ATF was replaced according to the shop. It now has 140k miles. This is complete bullshit if I'm only going to get 30k miles out of a completely rebuilt transmission. This car has a been a complete headache from the moment I picked it up. Cracking dash, transmission problems, app sensor failure, pressure switch failures, navigation failures, motor mounts all failed...and the list goes on.

Anyways, does anyone think it could just be throwing this code and having the blinking 'D' as a result of that "p0717/p0718" sensor needing to be replaced? It's odd that it goes off and comes back on.

Another weird thing is that it was still throwing the APP sensor code....even though I replaced it and all is well with it. Feels much better and hasn't died when the CEL/VSA come on, which is what the symptom of a bad APP sensor is. This car is too weird.

Also, if anyone is bored, could you take a pic of where this sensor is located? I see the diagram when looking at the part, but I can't figure out where it's located in an actual photo under the car. Thanks

Please! Anyone

It's throwing the APP Sensor code also.... Even though I replaced it. Wtf! The car doesn't die when the CEL & VSA lights come on like before the APP sensor was replaced, but yeah it still throws the code

... And some days it won't throw a single code. Called the shop that replaced the tranny, which is nowhere near my located (it's in Amarillo) and he said everything only comes with a 1yr/12k warranty.
