Odometer problem?
 
i have a 2004 tl, was driving earlier tonight and it was at 66,339, next thing i know its at 66,370? i heard of a odometer recall? anything i can do? and whats the exact problem? anyone? thanks

This is a common occurrence and is a serious problem that needs to be checked out

The problem is that the car is so comfortable that you can day dream and not realize you just drove your ass 40 miles past the exit. Solution is to place a tack face up on the seat.

Another possible issue is that you got sloshed and forgot you drove that far

Best fix is to drive in reverse until the odometer goes back to 340

Odo will usually count forward when driving in reverse. The speed sensor only counts magnetic pulses. My first thought was someone snuck the car out. Even though most say it doesn't work, the cable driven speedometer of my parents' car would roll back with the car on jacks when I was trying to avoid an ass whooping after sneaking the car out. A drill works very well as well. No chance in hell of rolling back an electrictronic odo.
