New struts one side higher!

Hello, having a dilemma here, installed new truhart struts about 2 weeks ago. So the problem I am having is the front passenger is higher than the other 3 corners. I measured it and it’s in between .50-.75” difference compared to the 3 corners. All the other 3 corner measurements came back the same. The only thing is did was try and tighten the top strut mount down, but it wasn’t going down. I know they say swap the strut from left to right, I’ll be doing that this weekend, any ideas what it can be or what I can check that’s causing this while I have it up the weekend?

most likely forgot a washer in the top hat.

Go back over your install...

Which are you talking about to be sure I keep an eye out
because for sure I have #5, I’ll take it apart and see if I have #9

Did you measure all the struts before installing?

Hi,

Assuming you swapped out your shock, I'd look at the two bushings (#6 I think). When I replaced my shocks, each of the old bushings was at least 0.25 inch flatter than the new. If you used new on the problem strut, and old on the others, that could account for your problem.

If the strut was already fully assembled when you bought it, and all you did was install a strut assembly (I'm not familiar with truhart struts but a quick google search seems to indicate they sell the entire assembly), then what I wrote above will not apply.

Good luck.

Maybe I cut the bump stop uneven, or more than the other side. Will the be a possibility?

No. Bump stop is only in play when at full compression.

What springs did you install them with?

Are these the ones you bought?

Might not be your issue but I had a similar issue and mine started squeaking badly about 3-4 weeks in. I re-assembled my coilover and found that I had 2 of the #6 bushings on top. When I removed the tophat from the OE strut assembly the top bushing got pressed deep into the tophat and it looked like it was the bottom bushing so I put the other one on top. I did notice a slight height difference but it was my first coilover install so I thought it was normal.
