Navigation Freezes
I have a 2005 tl with 120,000 miles. The navi screen is starting to freeze every so often, meaning the screen doesn't move or change even though I'm driving down the road. After about 30 secs-1 minute, it will "catch up" and work fine.....until it freezes again. I have tried my original disc, and a new disc, and it happens with both. Is this a sign that my navi is on its last leg?

Go into the diag. screen. You have to press and hold three buttons (nav+home+cancel i think) Check for errors in all menus. It could be a bad sensor (GPS, Yaw, etc.). check for scratches on the DVD. If nothing else, like cd player or other screens, freezes, it is likely a sensor or program error. If everything freezes, it might be the whole unit (cpu, ram, etc) if it all runs off the same computer. If you or someone messed with the diag. screen settings, that could be it as well. Best to list settings from the diag. menu and compare with others.
Although, I do not know about this GPS system in particular, I work at a car repair shop and learn computer programming in my spare time. I hope it helps.
