My navi stopped talking and just cracks

My 05 TL navi just stopped talking when it comes time for voice guidance. Instead it makes a loud nasty cracking type sound. Anyone know what this could be?

This happened to me also on my 04!!! The dealership replaced the Nav brain and HFL module free under CPO. It did take 6 weeks though, but at least it was free!!
