Low Oil Pressure Light

Low Oil Pressure Light
My wife was headed to a doctors appointment this morning, and the low oil pressure light illuminated, then started flashing. She pulled over in a parking lot, and called me about the problem. I had to leave work, and take her to the doctor's office. I returned to our abandoned 2007 TL-S, checked the oil level (was full), and the low oil pressure light was off. We used Acura client services to tow the car to the dealership, and so far, the low oil pressure light has not illuminated for them.
The dealer has contacted Acura technical services, and is now waiting for a response. My wife informed me several times that the car has made a loud squealing noise when first started in the mornings. I have tried to hear the squeal, but have been so far unsuccessful.
The combination of the low oil pressure light, noisey valves, rattling rear suspension, dash rattles, and the mysterious disappearing driver memory system do not combine for a very confidence inspiring ownership experience. All of this has occured at only 3100 miles on the odo.
I will post back here when I know what the dealership has found.

I recieved a call from our Acura dealer today, and the service advisor told me that they heard the very loud screech when they started it this morning. He also advised that they were now very concerned about this noise and are waiting for advice from Acura Technical support in California.
They have a loaner car ready for us and stated that they need to keep our TL-S for an unspecified period of time. I really hope they get this sorted out, but it is disappointing that the original engine has seemingly developed a serious oiling problem within 3100 miles. I also hope they dont patch the problem, and then return our car to us with an unknown amount of internal damage. Pressure lubrication faliure can certainly result in an engine which will have a relatively short life. If there is a fault in the lubrication system, then I am going to ask Acura for an extended warranty to cover future problems which would be related to this failure.
At this point, I feel that the dealer is doing their very best to take care of us, and I will provide you guys with more information as I recieve it, but I would love to hear any pointers or advise on how to best deal with this situation.

This might be overboard, but I would try to ask them to replace your car entirely as I would try to deem it as a lemon. If not, I would try to make Acura buy it back. At 3100 miles, I dont think anyone should have to deal with such a major problem. Best of luck dude, keep us posted and sorry that youre not able to enjoy your new car.

You know I'm on the fence right now about buying a new Type S. I really like the car but things like this are really keeping me from pulling the trigger. The whole attaction and a critical reason that got me interested in the TL was i wanted to get back to some Honda reliability. After seeing all the things I have seen on Acurazine concerning the Type S I am concerned. Hang in there, don't let it upset you to much and hopefully they will do right by you and get your car sorted out soon.
