Loud click noise after shifting from Neutral to Drive
Every morning when i back out of my drive way, turn my steering wheel right to exit into the streets and put the tranny from Reverse to Neutral, to which i sort of let the inclined driveway give momentum to the car rolling backwards before shifting into Drive, the car makes a very audible click noise after the car's in drive. This noise happens maybe a second after the car is in Drive and prior to me applying pressure to the gas pedal. Anyone experience this or know if this is a problem i should look into?

This sounds very similar to the problem I had just recently. My problem was that I had after market break pads that were smaller than the stock honda/acura ones. What my tech explained to me was that this caused the clicking noise when shifting into reverse or drive because they had room to move a little more than normal within the caliper. At first this all sounded a little funny to me but all I can say is that the noise is now gone. I would also hear a rattling when going going over bumps at speeds around 25 mph, this noise is also gone now. Hope this helps.
You should also know that a slight tap noise is normal when shifting the trans.

If I read that correctly- you roll down the driveway in R, shift to N then D while still rolling backwards?
Is that what you meant?- or do you come to a full stop- then go from n to D5, and there is a delay and noise on engagement of D ?

This might be the same issue i had with my manual. Members on here said that the clicking/scraping noise is the ABS test system and it is normal or an "Acura Tl thing". I wonder if that is what you are experiencing.

the ABS noise is distictive and does a pump cycle check once when you first start the car and then at 5 mph as you go forward
THUNKS or delay of more than 1 second from N to D need to be looked at

yes, i roll down in reverse, then shift into neutral at the point where the car is neutral, gravity is not pullnig the car reverse, then when the car is completely outof the driveway and i have enough room to steer into the street, i shift it into drive, all the while never touching the brakes once. the delay from neutral to drive click noise is about 1 second after engaging drive. i should get it looked at?
