Loose rear view mirror

The rear view on my 04 TL is loose where it mounts to the windshield. Is there a bolt/screw to tighten up?

At night I see shaking headlights in the mirror when I hit bumps.

I took the covers off and didn't see anything that I could tighten. Again its loose where the post connects to the roof/windshield. From the post to the mirror itself is actually tight.

Anyone?

Any pics of exploded view of the rear view or from the service repair manual or anything?

I had a loose mirror after getting the windshield replace. There is a metal (base) already glue onto the windshield. The mirror mounts on that metal base by put it up under the metal base and pushing the mirror up onto the base. You may have to push it kinda hard for it to go all the way up. Mine seems to be holding for now.

Isn't the shaky mirror annoying?

Really annnnoying.

Well I just figured out how to get it off of the base and I decided to put a little bit of silicone where the mount and the 'claws' (tabs on post that grab mount). We'll see how that works, I think another member had good results doing this.
