Loose Driver's Seat

My driver's seat (07 Base TL) has a slight rock to it. When I come to a harder than normal stop I feel the seat rock slightly forward. The bottom and the back of the seat move together. Anybody else had this problem? Can the seat be tightened up?

Oh man....I've had this same thing happen with my Type S too !!!! I thought I was just nuts, so it's good to hear that someone else has had this happen to them too. I was almost embarrassed to go back to the dealer and say something to them. I'm anxious to see if this is normal or not. Hey, you're not in this boat alone !!

It sounds like you both have loose seat tracks, which is not normal and is covered by warranty; see the dealer ASAP as a loose seat is no laughing matter.

We had this happen to the front passenger seat on our Odyssey when it was a few months old; the dealer removed the seat, then removed, reattached and lubed the seat tracks.

And welcome to AZ!

Def not a safe thing, especially if you get in a wreck, those tracks can come completely undone and def. mess your day up

I just set up an appointment for my dealer to look at this on Monday. I'll report back to you and let you know what he said.

Guys...I just got my car back. They checked the drivers seat and found that something WAS wrong with it. They ordered a new track for the seat and it was replaced today. It actually does feel much better and was covered under warranty.

I went to the dealer for my mirrors and the seat and also the window squealing thing. They basically could replicate anything. My mirrors were "supposedly" fixed, and the seats, they noticed the rocking but not enough to do anything to them. They stated that this is normal. I explained to him about Acurazine and so forth. I just told them that I now have it documented. His answer was "yep". WTF is that? Should I go to another dealer?

try what evnash did, just take a ratchet to each bolt. Place your but on the front edge of the seat, and lean your back against the seatback. If it rocks, then you have a loose bolt in the rear. If it doesnt lean then you have a loose bolt in the front.

Has anyone had the front passenger seat repair work done? My front passenger seat makes an annoying sound all the time as referenced in the above service bulletin, before I waste my time at the dealership I was wondering if anyone had this repair done and if it made the sound go away, thanks.

Did you have any problems with noise under your passenger seat?

No, I did not. I had a clicking sound in my driver's seat. Every time I came to a stop or took off from a dead stop, the seat would click.

Well I finally got mine fixed, too. They replaced the seat tracks and it was also covered under warantee. It has made a world of difference in my opinion of the quality of the car. The most annoying part, however, was getting the service guy to admit that the seat was not right. "They all do that" is not an acceptable answer. If so, then they are all defective. I pointed out that neither the passenger seat in my car or the driver's seat in the TSX loaner car did it. I've never had a car, foreign or domestic, with a loose driver's seat.

I saw a post last year of a closeup diagram showing the bolt assembly and instructions on readjusting the alignment of them. The same post mentions the loose seat is a flagged issue with 3rd gen TLs by Acura. I took the printout to an Acura dealer and was told I was 2 months past warranty and would have to pay for a new track. The entire seat track needs to be replaced when the seat starts to "wiggle". Needless to say I left but am thinking of getting it done anyway because it's enough of a problem that it completely overshadows the otherwise enjoyable driving experience. It's going to cost around $400 Cnd.
