Little rust, fix?
Hi,
Couple years ago my brother backed into my car and dented the rear driver side door. Had the dent fixed and is barely noticeable, but some paint did chip. I did the best I could to apply wax over it (didnt have touch up paint at the time and didnt know better). Worked fine for a while but recently a little rust has shown up. I tried to scrub the rust off and apply touch up paint over the metal. I just noticed that the paint fell off and its rusting again.
So how do I get rid of the rust and make sure it stays away? The chip and rust is about the size of a pencil eraser. Not big but I dont want it to spread.
thanks

rust will probably just get worse over time (especially if in the exact area of the damage); but as mentioned trying to prolong it's life,
btw just be happy it is a door, and not the actually chassis/body of the car (doors are easily replaced)
as far as the touchup paint not staying on, try taking a little paint thinner/nail polish remover on a q-tip and dab/swab at the spot to try to clean up all the residue wax/greases that may be inside that rust spot, let it dry for like a minute (lightly blowing on it will help speed up the process) THEN reapply the touchup paint, and see how long it lasts
