This is going to be different for everyone. You have to take into account who the driver is. Me personally, I like to use the brakes alot. Some people will downshift to use the engine for braking. So to get a ballpark estimate will be quite difficult. If I HAD to throw out a number, I would say inbetween 25-35k miles.

For the 5AT, right? I believe the 6M has Brembo pads as OEM.

For me, the original pads were changed at 105K miles (before the service 4, timing belt change), but I think they also had 1 or 2 full autocross days on them.

They were replaced with the current Akebono ProAct ceramics, after which the car was also autocrossed...

Definitely. Even with the AT, I always use it in manual mode. Coming up to an intersection that I know will be red, I coast without touching the gas anymore, downshift from 4 to 3 to 2 until I barely have to press the brakes to come to a stop. I imagine my brakes will last me forever+1.

It's also always nice to hear the car purr as you downshift.

with my 02 CLS I changed my brake pads for the first time at 81K now the car has 138K on it

want your brakes to last? simple when you are driving let the car bleed off speed by coasting up to a red light and then gently slow down as you get near it. Saves a lot of wear on your brakes.

using your at to slow down = your trans is gonna die sooner as you are putting excess wear on your clutch pads... brake pads are cheaper than an AT rebuild....
