Life beyond 100,000+ miles
It's been a great 100,000 miles. The TL is the first car that I, myself, have personally put 100,000 miles on. It's been a great car and till this day remains reliable.
A few ongoing issues though that I've never been able to fix...mind you that I'm almost fully bolted on.
The CHAIR on the driver's side still remain to rock to this day. It was once fixed under the warranty back in the day, but it has again broken and under acceleration, rocks backwards; it's annoying. Any suggestions out there?
Sluggish. I've come to understand what tuning means. I can understand why our cars are sluggish at times and with all the bolt-ons, I can see why the car lugs down on certain days and without an available tune, our cars simply aren't optimizing all the bolt ons available (am I wrong?) and the stock tune...therefore holds the car back (hence sluggish???). However, as of recently, the car responds slowly to my foot (could it be a bad sensor?) and seems less "sensitive" than my girlfriend's Honda Fit. I'm assuming it's in part due to old age. I considered the APP sensor, but again...my car hasn't throw any codes, aside from O2 sensors (PCDs). Oh, btw...stillhere123's suggestion to pop the hood a bit (mdx spacer) to let heat escape works wonders. Touch the block after a few hours of driving and it remains surprisingly warm to the touch and not blistering hot as it has been in the past. Unfortunately, many of us assumed the bog from everyday driving came solely from the heat of the car (duh), but it has proven to be of no difference. The car still moves like a turtle, even under WOT after say 30 minutes of driving.
It's been to hell and back, without a doubt. The cars been through multiple front bumpers, rear bumpers, body shops, tires, rims, etc. I've replaced both front axles independently of one another, and its already had it's 105k tune-up (BTW, I remember a few people mentioning an annoying "whirling" noise under slight acceleration from the car/fans...after the 105k, that noise disappeared - water pump, tensioner???). She always had the privilege of seeing top tier gasoline and has been on mobil 1 and royal purple (I know, RP IS junk...looking to swap back to mobil 1 soon). All in all, a great car...but a bit expensive
PS. Apologies for suck "scattered" writing. Do we have a 100,000+ miles thread? It'd be nice to see what owners have needed to replace 100,000+ into driving the car.

RP's great and all...but LONG story short, it doesn't offer any better protection than say, Mobil 1. There's been quite a few "friendly" arguments on the topic. Unfortunately, I've been paying a premium for a product that isn't any better than the 5 quart, 23 dollar jug of Mobil 1 from Walmart. Instead I've been paying roughly $50 per change for RP . Oh and the K&N filters - same as Mobil 1 filters. They're both made via Chamption Labs. BOOO!!!

Royal Purple isn't a horrible oil, but it's not worth the price they charge for it. If you're ok paying $9-$10 per quart for oil, buy Redline. The 3.2 or 3.5 motor with group V ester in it purrs like a kitten. The basestock, and the additive pack, in Redline make it one of the best oils you can buy, but not everyone wants to spend that much money per quart.

they're doing just fine actually. replaced all 4 around 75k along with fluids, etc.
i'm in need of another flush though...i'm losing quite a bit of brake pressure. the dealer quoted me $159, which isn't too bad, i guess.
pardon...you're right, it's not "horrible." seems i got a little carried away.

You might want to check into the VSA modulator control unit TSB:

For the seat rocking, does this TSB apply?

it's a car-drive it
congratulations on reaching the 100,000 mile mark. My 06 tsx passed it a week ago.
I have had no problems with my car-changed the tires at 74,000 miles, the battery was replaced free under warranty at 39 months. Excellent car-love it.

OP, have you got the "A4" maintenance minder on the MID yet (timing belt change)? If you did, what was the mileage when it popped up?

alright, anyone else have a problem with bogging? low end torque is a no no now. the spacers, at one point, did the trick. oddly enough, everything seems to gone...yet again. anyone familiar with the app sensor? does a cel have to come prior to swapping out the app sensor? hm...

I was told that brake flush doesnt exist. There is no way to suck to flush the brake system with ABS because of how hard it would be to bleed all the air out of the ABS system. I had a good mechanic tell me that all he does is vaccuum the dirty fluid out of the resevoir.

Yea, you need more back pressure. I assume you already ran some seafoam into the intake to clean out all the gunk. That makes a pretty big difference. Also a clogges fuel filter or bad pump can cause a loos as well.
100k is nothing. These cars should see 300k.

I myself am pushing 95k miles and notice that the TL does feel sluggish at times.. I just seafoamed and it made a huge difference and am thinking about doing it again. I just noticed the slug feel earlier today on my way home in traffic. I, although, have no PCD's. I have pretty much a catback magnaflow exhaust with only one magnaflow muffler and no 3rd cat..
