L. Front door seal

Anybody now what the part number is for the Left front door seal. Not the seal on the door itself, but the one on the chassis. I think I found it on OEM acura parts, but not sure, it's only $25 or so. Whoever oned my car before me must have rubbed it alot while getting in and out and it is torn so I am going to replace it.
Thanks,
Eric

Yep I had the same problem. Looks like a fat bastid owned my car. Only 18k miles on it but it had been rubbed clean thru. They are around $25 like you said. Make sure to order the correct color since they are black weatherstrip outside and colored trim on the inside part. It's sold as one piece though as they are made molded together.

I had the same problem twice on my 07 TL WDP/ taupe interior. THe seal began to show wear after 2 months. According to Acura, the part is called the "front door weatherstrip sub seal" the part is color matched to the interior and on my car the finish is easily rubbed off. This is my fourth TL and never had this problem before. I was interested to see if others have experienced the same.

Worn Out Driver's Side Door Seal

I had the same problem. I must have rubbed the soft rubber seal as I got into my 2004 6MT TL. I got the dealership to replace it once. I must be more careful in future. It is likely the result of my mass, the auto closing driver's door and how low my TL is. Oh well.

Does anyone know how to replace the door seal on the chassis? I am afraid to take off the old one with some sort of know how.

Thanks.

You are talking about the door seal that is attached to the car by the A pillar and B pillar and goes all the way around correct? If so, you just pull and it will easily come off as sits in a channel all the way around. Take the new one, it should be semi formed, match up with the body lines, and just press it in

^ What he said...

Also should mention there is no glue or clips, it just comes right off like Fulani said.

I bought my car with 12K miles on it with the seal already worn through. This is the FIRST car I've ever owned that this has happened to... other cars that I've been second or third owner on that were much older that didn't have this problem. However, I am very happy with the TL overall... it makes me shake my head when I see this problem...

I've just noticed the same problem on my 2006. I suspect I slide against it more on the way out than in, but it has rubbed through. So it's just slide the old out of the channel and slide the new back in? That sounds like something even I can do!!! I haven't even asked the dealer about it cause I assume it would be crazy expensive.

I know this is a dated thread, but I'm hoping someone will still be reading/replying.
Like the original poster, I have a left front door seal that I need to replace for my 2005 Acura TL.
It is definitely just held in place and looks to be easy to remove and put a new one in... in most places.
Well, the seal in the front looks to travel behind the edge of the dashboard. While I can get my fingers inbetween the dash and seal, it doesn't seem like there's enough space to pull the old seal out (let alone maneuver the new seal into place).
I'm hoping I'm just missing something obvious... is there something easy/simple to remove or a technique for getting the seal into that location that doesn't require removing the dash?
Or, is removing the dash the only way to get access to that part of the seal?

Front Door Rubber Seal

My 2006 TL driver's side (left) front opening seal was badly worn & torn. Make sure you order the correct door seal and the correct trim color. My Ivory Trim, Front Left door seal Honda Part No. was 72355-SEP-305ZD, SEAL L FR DR*YR240L*. The door seal rubber combines the gasket and the colored trim on one rubber part. I believe the color codes are: (A) Black, (B) Gray, (C) Tan, (D) Ivory.

My old rubber seal just pulled out, was a little snug for 6 inched near the dash. Used my hands, no tools.

Figure out where you want the seam to be. I put mine on the bottom front of the door opening. The seal just pushes onto the welded flange around the door opening. A small 1lb rubber mallet seats the rubber seal perfectly. I used a large flat screwdriver with the sharp edges filed off to pry/push the rubber seal between the dash and the door flange. This took about 10 minutes of fiddling. The rest of the seal went on quickly. I had to pull the bottom loose and pull it every 6 inches, then pound it down so it stretched a bit longer so it would fit around the last inside curve.

Whole job took only about 10 minutes. Next time Would just be a few minutes. Really easy.

Thanks guys. I'm glad I found this thread; at least now I know what that part is officially called. I tried just calling it a Front Door Sill Trim.

So does anyone know how to buy this part? My Acura dealer (Mexico) says they can't order it. Is there somewhere online to get it? really appreciate some guidance.

Mine is Tan color, for a 2008 TL.

thanks so much.
