Just drove home a used 2004 46k TL AT (no accidents)

So i drove it around, went to a friends hours ~25 miles of driving and when I parked it at home and turned the engine off, the engine continued to hum, probably cooling down.

However, the noise was really loud, loudest I've ever heard, and it only shut off after I put the key back in the ignition and turned it halfway, without turning the engine off.

Also, I've been scouring the forums (trying to at work) and was wondering if it's right off the lot of a used car dealership, what should I have inspected and where? Should I get the a12 / b12 acura maintenance and how much for the a12?

Lastly, I'm guessing I need to replace the battery and fuel pump. Any suggestions what aftermarket battery I should look into and how much for a fuel pump + labor?

I do not believe I have a warranty, dealer mentioned the 5 year warranty on the 04 having been already expired

huh?.. this thread is giving me a headache.. sounds like you bought an auctioned wreck. Describe the engine noise you're hearing after you turn it off in more detail and try to pinpoint the location.. My guess is coolant related..

Check all the fluids.. P/S, Coolant, Oil, ATF.. Check the belts and rad fans. Check the intake filter.. I would treat that car like it's never been to the service shop and start with new oil, ATF, filters.. followed by coolant drain & fill and brake fluid down all lines.. I believe you're still under the powertrain warranty..

was it the actual engine still humming? or was it the cooling fan still running after you shut off the engine...

Seems like the cooling fan, my 3G doesnt do that even after driving it for 300+ miles or through hours of stop and go traffic but my 2000 2G TL use to do that a lot.
