Interior instrument light issues..
Almost a year ago I took my TL in to Acura to have the drivers door locking actuator replaced, it stopped locking/unlocking and working in general. While there I told them that my drivers heated seat light was "out" and the cruise control buttons that are on the steering wheel also were not lighting up. Well to fix both was going to put me back nearly $300.00, which was not in the budget. So I went on with life. About 3-4 months ago I really realized how HORRIBLE my head lights had gotten, oxidation to the max. In June I fully removed and replaced with new cleared out lights and updated bulbs. For the months prior to the change out (Most of April/May and beginning of June) I NEVER turned on my headlights, barely even used the dusk side lights, with the summer here it was not dark out, and I rarely drove at night. So for AT LEAST 2 months I never used my headlights, which in turn meant nothing inside the car was "lit up" well, about a week before the swap out of the headlights I started to use the lights more, as I was driving at night, and now my cruise control area lights all work! BUT heated seat is still out, but now here's the kicker... My "maintenance minder" area "Select/Reset" does not light up at all, but the "INFO" does, then over on the light brightness button, NONE of that the "MAX" or the light up/down buttons light up. Also my heated mirror lighting and (L/R) Mirror lighting do not glow. "VSA" & "MIRROR" light up. It's just weird to me that this has happened? Nothing was changed, nothing was fixed, I just went several months without the lights on due to the bad headlights. Would that have fixed "some" of the interior lights? Or what? Has anyone had this situation happen with their TL? It's not a end of the world situation just very weird for something to be out for MONTHS and then back, and something that was never out, to go out.

Go to Newark electronics (http://www.newark.com/jsp/search/bro...atchallpartial) and order a box (or 2) of part number 53M5340, package of 10 lamps. I replaced almost all of the backlights in my TL whether they needed it or not at 35,000 miles. When I bought my 04' TL it had the same lamps out as you are speaking of. I put a good stock bulb on a power supply to find out the power draw and matched them up to one in the Newark catalog. So far I have put 40,000 miles on these bulbs without any failures. The worst part is the time it takes to gain access to replace them, but they are not too bad.

Yes I already swapped for new lights. My lights I had were not salvageable the left one was smashed in and didn't even work half the time some a-hole backed into it and I had already bought the new lights so just put them in.
Thank you blue racer I will look into that, I'm just not much of a do it yourself person with electrical if I was I'd already have a nav put in lmao!

These bulbs are SOOOO easy to replace! I just finished doing all the bulbs in our 05's steering wheel as well as the heated seat bulbs and the ones around the gauge cluster. The bulbs are like $2 & change each so do yourself a favor and just replace all that you can get to rather than the ones that are out now only to have the others go out later.
Go here and see section G-100

The write up is for LEDs but it shows detailed instructions on how to remove the various panels and replace the bulbs.
Also, I recommend using oemacuraparts.com for cheap bulbs!
