(Ihatecars and friends!) 2004 TL auto transmission expert needed

My car doesn't engage 1st gear in D, as if in neutral.
Gears work in Low and Manual mode 2 through 5.
Once i get up to speed in Low or manual mode 2, i can put back in D, and all the other shifts (2 through 5) work.

I apparently need to replace something on the first gear clutches.

IS THERE ANY FLUID THAT I CAN TRY THAT WOULD PROMOTE CLUTCH ENGAGEMENT??? i did 2 flushes with DW1 already.

NB. First gear seems to not engage more often when its warm and i get stuck in traffic. Usually everything works well.

I was told by the tranny specialist that i can continue driving like this and it wont further damage the tranny. Just put it in low whenever D doesnt engage, and when i get up above 15 mph, but it back in D.

Think Redline Racing ATF has a chance of helping???

FYI i have 75,000 miles.
