I have a 2004 tl and as I was driving home today on the highway the car lost complete power! Lucky me there were no cars behind me and I was able to make it out the middle lane to the shoulder! I am takin it the my main fuse has a short but I am not sure! Has anyone else every experienced a problem like this! Someone please help thanks!

 

Run out of gas?

 

i have almost a full tank of gas i lost complete power as if the battery died but its not the battery nor the alternator....has something to do with a fuse but before i replace to fuse i would like to know what is causing the fuse to go off and on like this

 

Do you have an aftermarket stereo, tvs or neons anything like that?

 

everything is original in the car except the battery....i have done nothing to the car

 

once i was on the shoulder i popped the hood open, opened the fuse box up press the fuse down that has 120/70 amp on it down the car came back on and i made it home

 

Sounds like the went into limp mode and turning it off and then restarting it got you out of limp. Did the car completely shut off?

 

Yes the car cut completely off! Everything was off I had to put my code in just for the radio to come back on....

 

Sounds like one of the main fuses is going bad, if you were able to push it down and restart the car. I would take it to an independent Acura shop and have them look at it. You could replace the fuse you touched that allowed you to start the engine.
