a detailer might be able to help out very slightly by using a few bottles of touch up paint and some wetsanding, but that looks like it will need a repaint...

I'd buff out whatever can be removed and then have a professional & reputable shop touch up the spots. Anything more can get very expensive.

That's why you need to find a professional & reputable shop.. not from the cheapo place which I wont mention. Looking back on your pics.. if they touched up those spots you'd see at least half of the touch up spots, which could be an eyesore itself. I'd find a good shop that is fair and honest and then ask them. If you're ever up in Austin I can recommend a first rate place. I know the owner (chemical engineer) and he does great work.

Just hate that road rash. Looks like a re-paint to me. Would highly recommend that after you make that investment that you look into installing a clear bra (3M) on your hood, bumper, and side fenders. Initially when you look at the cost you may choke, but the investment is well worth it. Invested in this on all of our cars and it is the best solution to prevent this sort of recurring damage. Best of Luck!

If your going to wait till you pick up a new car, you may look into a regular bra for now? Not one of my favorite things and they have a tendency to scratch were they lay on the paint if there not cleaned regularly but if the front is already chipped and you want to make it look better this mite also be an alternative. But i definitely agree with most everyone, find a good shop to have a repaint done, nothing will upset you more then paying to have someone to repainted and it not last because you went to a crappy shop. Keep in mind for a complete repaint at a good shop (In California) they should start about $4k.
