How can you tell if your water pump was replaced?
Hi everyone. I just had my timing belt, drive belt, and water pump replaced at Hamilton Honda with their $389 monthly special. I have read about many other people on here going there to get this done as well. Anyhow, I was wondering if there is anyway to tell if the water pump has been replaced? I tried looking around the serpentine belt, but I don't see anything that looks like it is new. The belt is new and I can tell they had removed the bolts for the timing cover, so I know they had been working in there. Is the water pump completely covered by the timing cover and is it driven by the timing belt or the serpentine belt? I'm just trying to see if it really has been replaced because I know their deal is almost too good to be true!

it's covered by the timing belt covers. The only way to tell is to take at least one off and see if you can get a view of it.
or ask them for the old part?

depending on how long ago this service was performed, you can removed the engine cover take very detailed pics underneath the p/s pump pulley area, take pics directly infront of the powersteering pump (detailed on the lower section).
you have the waterpump cover which also serves as the engne mount bracket "holder". directly behind that cover lies the water pump.its no more than half an inch in width. look for different color metal, obviously the water pump will be newer looking, than the cover itself. hope this helps and sorry is i confused you.
