Hollow Knocking Sound - Rear Suspension on Bumps?
I have an 06 TL Automatic with A-spec suspension.
Lately I have been noticing a strange sound that I have not heard before.
I have owned my TL for about 2.5 years now.
When I am driving and I pass over perhaps a medium sized hole like a sewer drain (not a pot hole), I notice a hollow type of knocking sound from my rear suspension / wheels.
I have stock rims and wheels.
I cannot always replicate it but it is getting me worried. The dealer asked if I wanted to go for a test drive after I took off my winter tires but I had no time to do it and will probably go in again soon.
Any ideas anyone? I hope something is not loose.
Thanks.

Do they have rear shocks or struts? Sometimes a bad shock will make that noise when the travel hits the end. I think a strut will do the same thing. That would be when it's fully extended, not compressed.

I have had this for about a year. I recently moved out of state and transported a weight set in the trunk, stacking the weights over the rear suspension towards the back of the truck. Two days later I removed them and the clunk is almost gone, as if it pushed it all back together. But from the passenger rear I have had a clunk for some time.
Someone did a diy write up about removing some bolts to the rear seats and sliding a socket with extension down behind the seat to tighten the nut on top of the rear pillar but the search is pretty bad and I'm having a hard time locating it. Good luck.
