HELP!!! Stuck in Park

So we have been having battery issues with our 06 TL.. Something is draining the battery overnight EVERY night. I had a friend come and look at it last night, pull a couple fuses and look at some things and now the car is stuck in Park.. I think it may be a security issue due to the fact that the radio would normally bring up the CODE display after a dead battery or such (we've been dealing with this for over a week now) and that isn't even coming up. The car would start, but would not go into gear, disconnected the battery then reconnected it and now the car won't even start. It tries to but just keeps cranking... Please help! This is my mothers daily and need to get this resolved asap!

Well, the bluetooth unit might be what's draining the battery. Once battery is cooked all sorts of weird other stuff can happen. I know the automatic has a manual release for the actual lever.

Sorry I don't know much more.

I would try to manualy over ride the shifter lock. take off the small cover in the upper left of the shifter console. Put a screw driver or something thin in there and try to shift. My friend had this issue and it turned out this switch was out.
