HELP! Problems with acceleration (cant rev the engine)..
So im driving on the highway today and all of the sudden while accelerating, the car starts jumping like its hitting a rev limiter. When i slowed down and the rpm's were below 2000 it was OK, but as soon as I try to accelerate above 2100 rpm's it would have this same problem (it was exactly like when I have VSA on in the snow, and when the tires spin, then the rev limiter kicks in).
This only happens when im in gear (I have 6 speed MT), when im not in gear I can rev the engince as much as I want and it is fine. Could this be a problem with the transmission? Has anyone else had this problem? I'm stumped....

Any malfunction lights?
Possibly the accelerator pedal position sensor-- someone else recently had a thread on it, but this was the closest I could find: https://acurazine.com/forums/showthr...osition+sensor
Here it is: https://acurazine.com/forums/3g-tl-problems-fixes-114/acceleration-failure-while-driving-726039/.

You said it acts like it is hitting the rev limiter, but do the rpms jump while it is happing? If so it does sound like your clutch is slipping. If not, it sound like the differential or even a axel is bad. to test your axel raise the front end off the ground with the car off put the car into gear, have someone hold 1 wheel to keep it from spinning, and you take the other wheel and see if you can spin it. you should not be able to.
