Help! No dashboard/power but car still running

Hi this is my first time posting ....

recently my 2005 Acura TL battery died and car wouldn't start i tried boosting it twice and it started but then it just died while in my parking spot as i tried to let it idle to charge the battery...

so i went to canadian tire and bought a new battery put it in the car and it starts just fine the only problem is the dashboard has no power, the moonroof/windows have no power, the radio has no power, and the windshield wipers won't work either or the turn signals

This is troubling me a lot as my car is my only means of transportation and i can still drive the car but i really don't want to as it is a huge risk driving in winter with no windshield wipers or turn signals

Other than this the car is running fine the headlights work, and even the hazard lights and interior lights in the car work
but nothing else.???? CAN ANYONE HELP ME TOWARDS A SOLUTION

Check the fuses.

Did you pick up the Motomaster Eliminator Ultra? Good battery.

The problem is not the computer. Check the fuses. Be aware it could be a 'main' fuse if the car has independent power for the ECU, I'm not familiar with the electrical on your model. If you can't pull a fuse you might want to take it to the dealer.

Are you sure you didn't try and jump it backwards? That can total a car under some conditions, although its partially protected against it, although it does mean blown fuse(s).

Check fuses under dash 7 and 21. One of them is burnt, most likely.

Do not go to the dealership, you can do this!

Hi -- I have the exact same symptoms, as of this morning. Did replacing those fuses resolve the problem?

Going out and replacing the fuses yourself would be much more effective use of time than posting on a month old thread hoping to get the answer

Or you know, just looking at the fuses after pulling them out. Usually they show they're burnt.

For the possible benefit of others, will answer my own question: YES. In my case, fuse number 7 (interior panel above the hood release) was the culprit. Replacing it restored:
- IP lights and gauges
- Turn signals and 4-way hazards
- Windows and sunroof
- Climate control system (with fuse blown, it only blew hot air)

That's just what I'd noticed so far... there may have been other inop systems! Anyhow, fuse 7 only for me -- 21 was not blown.

Besides way too much, I wonder what a dealer would charge to replace the #7 fuse

Realistically it'd probably be the diagnostic fee of whatever ($99 bucks?) then price of fuse (knowing stealerships, $99 as well?)

so $198 plus taxes. Oh and they'll do a free multi-point inspection all of a sudden you have a oil leak and your transmission shifts funny and a bunch of CELs will pop up.

In other words, do that shit yourself.

I'm going to guess an hour of labor so $130-150 and about $7-8 for the fuse.

OK... sincere apologies. I realized this evening I stated that completely backwards: FUSE #21 is the one that was blown, NOT 7. Sorry!
