Help! Cabin lights / homelink center is rattling!
So somehow a screwmount inside the housing where the homelink remote is and the inside cabin lights got broken.
At least that's what the dealer told me. I have no idea how it happened but they are saying it's my fault and won't replace it under warranty. (short of HANGING on the thing, I'm not quite sure how that would happen. AND I've never tried changing the lightbulb or anything like that. I occasionally turn the light on or use the HL remote.. Anyway, I digress..
The only possible explaination is that me or a friend pushed too hard when trying to turn on the lights one time (maybe pushing it from the rear end instead of the actual switch) and now supposedly the screw mount is cracked.
The housing is hanging down just a little bit and visually it's not annoying BUT IT RATTLES.. OMG.. PLEASE HELP ME. heh..
(sorry for the drama..) but the rattle is driving me crazy.
If it was up to me, I'd just glue the thing back into place but I really don't know how to service it at all. I mentioned my gluing to the dealership and they chuckled and gave me the "good luck with that" routine.
What would you guys do? I don't want to dish out $1200 to fix a rattle.
Pics to come.

I thought there were Service Manual Scans posted for the removal of that part. Should be just clips to pop out, I think (.... errr, more like "I guess").
Not sure what the part is - can't find it in the parts diagrams, so no idea on replacement cost.
