HELP! 2004 Sputter issue @ slight hill incline, lower RPM, 25-35MPH
Please Help Me if you can or had this issue
CAR INFO:
Base 2004 TL with 84,000 miles (automatic)
WHATS WRONG:
-Slight Sputter (not harsh but defiantly noticeable)
-Happens mostly going up slight incline hills usually only around 2,000 RPM
-ONLY happens around 25-35MPH, Think I have narrowed it down to usually happening in 3rd gear. Never happens on highway or going downhill.
-NO CHECK INGIN OR DASH LIGHTS
Mostly Feels Shaky, loss of power in low RPMs
IF you press on the gas or let off it goes away.
Only tried Seafoam, heet, and gas injector cleaner so far as I wondered if it was just something simple... guess not. Any ideas or help?
Just bought the car and noticed it two days after buying as it does not happen all the time. Not sure how long it has been going on.
APPRECIATE ANY HELP -or- LINKS of related post that I might have missed.
Thanks

Try to determine if it's a problem with how the engine is running, or how the transmission is shifting.
If transmission, take note what gear it happens in, and if it happens before deciding to shift into the next gear.
Here's more info if you determine the problem is transmission related. I'd go ahead and replace the 3rd and 4th gear switches anyway with your mileage:

It does not sound like your describing a trans issue, read this post towards the end regarding the discussion about EGR valve, similar symptoms
