Headlights dull
Hey guys,
I have an 05 Acura TL w/o NAVI and was wondering if anyone else had the same problem. I have 90k on the TL but only had the car 2 years. My driverside headlamp is dull. The outside plastic has almost fogged up on the outside and seems to be unfixable. I looked online for a replacement piece however it's almost $500. it almost looks like someone took fine sandpaper and rubbed it til you could barely see out of it.
ANyone have any ideas?

I have noticed that on many sets that I get in for service. Most of the times there is dust and silicone vapor towards the inside of the lens. Best thing to do is to resurface the lenses.

Hey thanks for the reply but what i meant to say is the smoke look is on the outside of the plastic headlamp. Like if your standing infront of your car and look at the headlight that piece looks almost like it was sandpapered foggy.
any ideas?

go to the parts store and buy a $6 botte of headlight lens restorer
Its plastic polish- apply with a buffer like a `powerball` on a drill, and they come out like new
You can use wet/dry sandpaper in several grits ike 1500 -2000 and some plastic polish too and do it by hand but takes longer
Used the powerball method on my buddies truck -where the lens were heavily yellowed, 10 minutes and they look like brand new clear!

make sure after you polish it you put on a protective film, when you sand it you take off what's left of the UV protection that keeps it from turning yellow. Well with all the coating gone they will turn yellow pretty quickly, put some headlight covers on and it won't come back
